Description

The Classic Pearl Bee Necklace is the first piece of jewellery Rachel designed and made for RWJ. Representing freedom, hard work and accomplishment the pearl bee has very special symbolism to this little business. And our customers too, the pearl bee necklace is our best selling design.

Made from solid sterling silver with a thick plating of 18ct yellow gold the pearl bee necklace is also available in sterling silver finish and rose gold vermeil.

With a creamy classic pearl abdomen the bee necklace is set with a sparkling white sapphire in its body. The bee is held on a delicate yet durable chain thread through its antennae and is ready to take flight at any moment with its highly polished and delicately textured wings.

All of our jewellery is lovingly designed and handmade in Rachel's Birmingham studio with help from casters and stone setters in the historic Birmingham Jewellery Quarter.

We recommend cleaning your jewellery gently with a jewellery polishing cloth and keeping your pieces away from perfumes, lotions and perspiration.

Size & Materials

The Large Pearl Bee Pendant has a wing span of 22mm and measures 19mm from top to bottom. The body of the bee is set with a 2mm white sapphire and the abdomen is a 9mm white drop pearl.

As standard the pearl bee necklace is made on a delicate but strong trace chain which can be worn at 16 or 18 inches. If you are looking for a different length just get in touch, we’re always happy to make adjustments.

I make all my jewellery from my small workshop close to Birmingham’s Jewellery Quarter in the United Kingdom.

I’ve been lucky to learn so much from the incredible talent within the British jewellery trade and it’s important to me that my jewellery is made in the UK and does its own tiny bit to support the trade.

I'm surrounded by so many skilled casting companies, goldsmiths, stone setters and hand engravers in Birmingham and I think it's vital that we support them and keep their disciplines alive and available for generations of designers to come.

When you buy a piece of Rachel Whitehead Jewellery, you're helping keep the Birmingham Jewellery Quarter the vibrant and vital centre of manufacture that it has been and should remain for years to come.
